We use premium t-shirt brands Bella Canvas and Continental Clothing

We love to print on premium t-shirts, Bella Canvas and Continental Clothing are our ‘go to’ brands. Printing for fashion brands is often very different to printing band tees or event tees. Fashion brands naturally focus on the overall product, usually paying particular attention to how the garment feels when worn and rightly so. They are not just selling a t-shirt they are selling a fashion item. We have all had those super cheap tees which only look good at the time you buy them and once they have had a go in the washing machine they warp and never look quite right again. This is precisely why we like to […]

Screen printing discharge ink

Recently I have been testing out waterbased discharge ink on 100% cotton and poly-cotton blends as more and more customers are looking to create effects or get a certain look by using specialist inks or techniques, the results have turned out well. A little background to discharge printing; unlike standard waterbased or plastisol inks where they require a white underbase when printing on dark fabrics, printing discharge does not need an underbase. Why is discharge printing good? There are a couple of good points. Firstly – you are able to remove a step (the underbase print) from your print job. Secondly – less ink is being added to the fabric, this means […]

Gin Festival Event t-shirts

Gin Festival event t-shirts

Gin Festival needed event t-shirts for their event team. They asked us to produce black event t-shirts featuring their logo on the front and “events team” on the back in white ink. They were keen to have a high quality and comfortable t-shirt in a unisex and rolled sleeve ladies style. We advised using continental clothing tee’s for their great fit and superior quality. At each event the team setup and dress Gin Festival, this meant that the tees had to be comfortable while doing lots of moving and lifting. Continentals are good and soft, they are also 100% cotton which helps if gets a bit warm 😅 To keep the […]

New Discharge Inks – Evening of Testing

This evening has been spent trying out new tshirt designs and new inks. I ordered some sample sized pots of discharge ink to test and I have to say I am really impressed.  The print was solid and vibrant on the 100% cotton tee and well textured on the tri-blend as you would expect. I’m looking forward to getting stuck in to new design on dark garment to give the discharge inks a good blast. Read more about how discharge reacts to poly-cotton t-shirts. Leeds Gin Festival

This weekend we will have a small popup stall at the Corn Exchange. We were very kindly invited by our good friends at the Gin Festival (www.ginfestival.com) to join in with what is set to be a really great event. We are now setting up everything for the stall and trying to show Andy how to fold a t-shirt, it’s looking like I will have to make a simple folding machine for him! An A-board sign has been knocked together from a beautiful old and beaten pallet. Rebecca and Emma have done an amazing job sanding down our new POS blocks. The hangers have been sprayed matte black and I […]
